Job Description: Speech Therapist
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Speech Therapist to join our team at The Supporters for Educational Services and Development. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders in children and adolescents. Your expertise and guidance will contribute to improving their speech, language, and overall communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in children and adolescents.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and specific needs of each student.
Provide speech therapy sessions to improve speech articulation, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, and voice modulation.
Implement evidence-based therapy techniques and strategies to address communication difficulties.
Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create a supportive and consistent approach for the student's communication development.
Monitor and track students' progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
Provide guidance and support to parents and caregivers, offering strategies for facilitating language development and communication skills at home.
Collaborate with educators and professionals within the organization to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
Stay updated with the latest research, advancements, and best practices in the field of speech therapy.
Attend professional development workshops and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
Demonstrate flexibility in transportation to reach students at their homes, schools, or clinics for therapy sessions.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
Certification and licensure as a Speech Therapist.
Proven experience in conducting assessments and providing speech therapy to children and adolescents.
Solid understanding of various speech and language disorders and appropriate therapeutic interventions.
Strong knowledge of assessment tools, therapy techniques, and resources in the field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and other professionals.
Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a supportive and motivating environment for students.
Ability to maintain accurate records of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
Proficiency in using technology and specialized software for speech therapy purposes.
Flexibility in transportation to reach students at their homes, schools, or clinics for therapy sessions.
